OUR FIRM’S ORGANIZATION AND STAFFING –

The Law Office of Ronald D. Weiss, P.C. was formed in 1993, by Ronald D. Weiss, Esq., a Long Island debt relief attorney, who since becoming a member of the New York State Bar in 1988 has been committed to representing Nassau County and Suffolk County clients seeking debt relief. At the firm’s main office, which is centrally located on Route 110 in Melville, New York, our staff meet with clients and prospective clients. We also have several branch offices throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties that are available by appointment only. Our debt relief law firm is divided into several departments: 1) a Bankruptcy Department (which itself is divided into teams that deal with Chapter 7, Chapter 11, Chapter 13, Adversary Proceedings, Contested Motions and Bankruptcy Appeals); 2) a Litigation Department (which is divided into teams that deal with foreclosure defense, landlord-tenant litigation, varied debt collection defense, appeals and complex motion practice); 3) a Negotiations Department (which is divided into teams dealing with the negotiation of credit cards, personal loans, business debt, student loans and tax debt); and 4) a Mortgage Loan Modifications department (which is also divided into mortgage modifications sought directly from lenders and those sought in bankruptcy loss mitigation cases). Our staff is composed of attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, clerks, administrative assistants and an office manager. Our personnel have varied in number over the years, growing steadily to an office that, prior to the Covid-19 pandemic numbered 22-25 in combined personnel. Our goal with our debt relief efforts is to eliminate, reduce extend and/or reorganize virtually every type of debt. The approach which our firm utilizes is using the broadest possible range of legal services which can be combined to resolve our client’s financial challenges. These debt relief “tools” include but are not limited to: different forms of bankruptcy, foreclosure defense, landlord tenant litigation, general debt litigation, mortgage modification, creditor negotiation, credit card settlements, tax debt repayment plans, business debt reorganization, student loan installment agreement, short sales, real estate deals and/or credit repair.

OUR FIRM’S APPROACH TO STRATEGIZING OVER POTENTIAL DEBT SOLUTIONS –

Our law office for over 30 years has been dedicated to representing Long Island debt relief clients. We are divided into departments and sub-departments that allow our staff of attorneys , paralegals, legal assistants and clerks to concentrate on particular areas of debt relief in the bankruptcy, litigation, modification and negotiation areas and excel in their particular areas. In deciding on options during a consultation, the different debt relief alternatives are analyzed and compared and the client together with our attorneys decides on which debt relief tools are the best fit for the situation. We offer a an initial free consultation where we in detail lay out the potential client’s options and the pro’s and con’s of each alternative. While make recommendations in our consultations, the potential client is always in charge of deciding how, when and whether to proceed with any of the options presented. If the potential client decides to proceed with a given recommendation, we schedule or proceed with an “intake” where the client’s detailed financial information is obtained from questions that are part of forms we fill out with the client and from the client’s financial documents; the intake allows us to coalesce the essential facts of the client’s economic situation. The client will thereafter schedule a followup visit which is typically a “signing” designed to have the client review our prepared case documents and to allow us to proceed on the client’s behalf. After the signing we are able to proceed to serve and/or file our clients’ legal documents. This method of approaching debt relief issues, by comparing and combining legal ‘tools”, maximizes our chances of finding a solution that works well for our client and either finds a resolution or enhances our client’s situation by giving them improved position, more time and/or better options.
